Picking out the
perfect tree, dressing it up for the holidays and enjoying the irreplaceable pine scent is a big part of holiday traditions. Knowing how the fake trees originated takes a lot of romance out of the picture. Essentially, they were big, green toilet brushes! The first faux trees were made in the 1930s by a toilet brush manufacturer, Addis Brush Company.
So, after reading that, you may never look at your fake tree the same way! Good thing our Holiday Open House is coming up on the weekend following Thanksgiving (November 27 - 29). This is the perfect time to pick out the perfect, most fragrant tree and any other holiday greenery you can think of. There will be discounts in the Gift Barn and the greenhouses will be turned into a winter wonderland. Even Santa can't resist -- he'll be stopping by that Saturday! More details about the Holiday Open House are to the right.
Our annual Girls Nite Out took place earlier in November and was
very well attended! Our angels (everyone was given a hallo upon arrival) enjoyed the food, refreshments and tunes while getting a sneak peak at our discounted holiday items. It's such a popular event, we're thinking about how to expand the space for next year. Thanks to all who joined us for this delightful evening.
All month long the farm will be a winter wonderland for the holidays with lots to see and do.
We wish you an incredibly happy Thanksgiving and hope to see you for some festive times at the farm this month.
