Newsletter / February 2012

Our 2011 season has come to a close and so the farm goes to sleep until April. We are so very grateful to our many loyal customers who support us year after year. A hearty "thank you" goes out to all of you!

While we’re closed, we certainly are not resting on our laurels.  We will soon start planning for the next season and would love your input as to what you’d like us to offer next year.  Are there any new varieties of plants you’d like in your spring or summer garden?  Was there something we used to carry but haven’t been and you’d like to see it return?  All of your suggestions and general comments are welcome.  Drop us an email and let us know what you think.

Get those suggestions in quickly! David and staff are already starting the seeding process. Over 300,000 seeds will be placed in a blanket of soil and nursed all winter long to ensure they turn into spring beauties. It's a labor of love.

While you have your thinking caps on, Barbara will be doing classes this spring after taking last year off. If there are any topics or projects you'd like her to touch on, send an email. We'll announce the classes and their dates and times in the March newsletter.

We love to support local businesses and are personal fans of a very innovative Rhode Island company, Kirks Folly. Take note that they're having a factory outlet sale this month. Details below.

Enjoy the winter!  And if you’re not a cold weather person, you can look forward to our opening day in April when warmer temps are on the way.
