The Fourth of July is on its way, so on a patriotic note... Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson all served on a committee to choose a symbol for the national seal. We all know that the bald eagle was chosen as a strong symbol as it has few predators and lives only in North America. But Benjamin Franklin was not flying along with the idea. He wanted a more grounded bird--the turkey!
