It’s June, the month when things are really blooming around here. It’s truly one of our favorite times of the year, although it goes by in a blur since we’re so busy. With May behind us, so is the sporadic weather of late spring. You now have the “all clear” from David to plant even the most delicate of annuals.
The other thing that’s coming to life is our first-ever Fantasy Faire which will take place on June 26th. Fairies, pirates and even a unicorn will reign during this day created for the whole family.
Not only will it be fun to simply stroll the grounds to see the farm metamorphosed into a fantasy land, but you can stop to learn how the pirates really lived, view demonstrations and/or attend workshops on building fairy houses, making wood carvings and more. Kids can pet the unicorn and ride “Snap” the dragon (yes, we’ve trained our dragon!). The day also features a Vendor’s Village filled with very unique artisans. When you need to refuel, food and refreshments will abound at our Mad Hatter’s café. Admission is free for all and parking is just $10 per vehicle, so bring the whole family!
The kiddos will soon be on summer break. What to do? We always recommend getting their thumbs green (and certainly dirty!) by helping out with gardening. Children of all ages actually get a kick out of growing their own food, and it’s also a great way to ease them into eating more veggies. Even if you don’t plan on doing a vegetable garden, involve them in the planning and planting of your landscape or give them their own pot of annuals of their choosing to plant and nurture all summer. It gives them a real sense of pride and a little time outside with you.
Enjoy the beginnings of summer and all the blooming in your yard. We are here to help with any advice and certainly have a full stock of all the plants and paraphernalia you could ever need.
We hope to see you on June 26th for our Fantasy Faire!
