Can you believe we’re into March already? Spring is on the way (not that we’ve had much of a winter!) and so is opening day here at Frerichs Farm.
Our official
first day of the season will be Tuesday, April 10th when all greenhouses will be

ready. But before then, we will be selling our beautiful
Easter flowers. These will be available March 30th through Saturday, April 7th. We will be
closed Easter Sunday, April 8th.
The
Gift Barn will also be open on select days before our official opening day. See the details to the right about discounts and a raffle.
David and the crew have plenty of dirt under their nails as they nurture this season’s plants. Most of the seeding was completed last month, and now it's time to transplant those young little plants. Our crew is hard at work to make sure these little guys grow up strong and healthy.
This season we will of course have everyone's favorites and all of the standards, but we always look to our

customers for suggestions on what we offer. Based on your feedback,
we will be introducing a new flower, Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate, a very quick growing plant with chains of flowers that hang down from tall stems.
A new vegetable plant that was suggested is
artichoke—these will be ready to plant in the spring and ready to eat in the summer.
Another piece of great news—
Barbara’s classes will be back this season. The first class, on container gardening, will be held Saturday, April 14th. This first class will be free! But you need a reservation.
Email to reserve a space. There will also be lots of other surprises that day! Watch for future announcements on other classes that will run every Saturday in April
Also note that we have teamed up with Hope Is Growing to create
survivor gardens for cancer patients. Their goal is to plant or provide material for a flower or vegetable garden at the homes of any type of cancer patient. See below for details.
Looking forward to seeing all of you again in April.
