Opening day is on it's way
It's been a strange winter... warmer than average most of the time, then a season's worth of snow all at once. However the remainder of winter plays out here in New England, we are still getting ready for spring here at Frerichs Farm.
The seedlings are coming along nicely in the warm greenhouses. Once we open on April 11, life will still be a little brown outside but the greenhouses will be bursting with the color of spring. And this year, we've spiced things up! David got a hold of seeds from the world's hottest peppers! For those who enjoy their peppers on the mild side, we will have plenty of those varieties and will also carry new varieties of heirloom tomatoes. It's a great opportunity to try out new veggies in the garden this year.
And since our opening day occurs before the Easter holiday, we will be selling those beautiful Easter plants.
Throughout the year, we will be hosting the events the community has come to love--Pumpkin Palooza, the Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off, Girls Nite Out and more. The only change from previous years is that the gift shop will not open until September as a Holiday House, focusing on the fall season, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
March is here, and spring is well on it's way! We love this time of year when we are preparing our plants for their unveiling in April. Enjoy the rest of this crazy winter. We look forward to seeing you all in April.
